- Logs originate from the West Coast of Africa and Pommele logs can be very large
- The veneer is always peeled to maximise the figured effect.
- The word Pommele is derived from the French word Pomme, translated into English as apple. It is meant to describe the apple shaped effect of the figure. A heavily Pommeled log will show a three dimensional effect of the veneer to create a truly unique and dense pattern.
