- Logs are forest grown in England and are now mainly smaller dimension logs for crown slicing.
- Logs are quite fragile and need to be felled correctly. A log that is poorly felled may split on impact with the ground. Many Chestnut logs will have ring shakes so finding good veneer quality timber is getting harder to find.
